WHO IS A GHOSTWRITER?

Interesting question.

I will answer this question with a metaphorical explanation using cooking for illustration.

Do you have veggies, pepper, tomatoes, meat, and dry fish? 

Do you want to cook?

What would you like to cook?

Your Cook is the Ghostwriter.

As a cook, the ghostwriter comes in and handles the cooking for you by helping you put everything together after you have bought the necessary ingredients. He or she blends ideas, memories, words, experience, and principles to birth a compelling well-written product.

Like a cook tucked behind the scenes cooking, the ghostwriter works behind the scenes and creates what will bring joy to others.

You have the experience and the exposure. You know the story and the plot. You were in the mix acting with other actors in several roles in the drama of life. You understand the timeline and you know the script. The Ghostwriter’s job is to help you make the story a story. This gives it tone and rhythm. He or she knows what to put in and what to take out. But he or she needs to find out from you exactly what you want. So there will be a need for interviews and interactions between the client and the ghostwriter.

We are like Deejays.

We make incredible things happen. Remember in the 70s when vinyl records were the in thing? We can mix Opera music with Hip hop and the man who loves classical music wouldn’t feel his shrine of music has desecrated.

Our duty is to keep people happy and dancing. We spend time with you, to know your mood and desires before unleashing the power of our pen. 

Just as a deejay selects and blends different tracks to set the mood and engage the audience, a ghostwriter combines memories, ideas, and experiences of the client, to frame what will make everyone happy.

The deejay and the ghostwriter take existing details and remix them into a new creation that vibes with the desires of his or her client.

We are Bakers

We don’t plant or harvest the wheat. We weigh and measure the wheat of ideas, opinions, principles, etc. From this, we craft words that become sentences that establish the desires of our clients. You give us the mould, the butter, wheat, the sugar, and all the stuff needed to determine the quality of bread you want to make then we mix it to your taste, and Voila, it comes out of the oven fresh and baked bread ready to eat. We are fulfilled when the taste buds of the mind are happy.

We are Ghostwriters though I have never liked the ghost label. But it is what it is.

“WHO NEEDS GHOSTWRITERS?

Anyone who has a story to tell or knowledge to share.

BUT I  CAN WRITE IT MYSELF?

Of course, you can.

Most people can drive but that doesn’t mean they qualify as Formula One drivers. it’s important to consider that just because you can write doesn’t mean you’re an expert. Most people who can write do not have the quality time to do the writing.
