It was a sunless day in the city of my soul

The sky and the stars were in deep sleep

My soul was trying to talk to my hands through the dark clouds

But my brain couldn’t tell my hands what to do.

I sat before my computer, drumming endlessly with my fingers

Imagery remained imprisoned in my head

I couldn’t find suitable words to pour it out through the funnel of my hands

Suddenly, the phone rang and the keyboard “got saved by the bell“.

Can you believe?

I laid down to sleep

Ended up thinking of sleep instead of sleeping

One thought hit a high note in my mind

I rushed with glee to my computer and wrote absolutely nothing.

Who would believe?

If I wrote about dancing octopuses and laughing rivers

What of horses that walk backward and do headstands

Who would believe that a monkey graduated *Summa Cum Laude from medical school

Oddities in this world where we eke out a living.

Who would believe?

I once rode on Ballam’s talking donkey

Got interviewed by the cock that warned Peter

Went water skiing with the whale that swallowed Jonah

Had lunch with the ravens that fed Elijah.

Who would believe?

I once owned an all-glass classy Mercedes Benz…………..in my dream

I drove it down a golden street to my Castle

I was rudely jerked out of the dream world by neighbors quarreling over “who let the dogs out🎵🎵

Now I have lost the Castle and the glassy Mercedes and someone will surely hear from my lawyers.
