I’m not angry.
I’m not bitter.
I’m in that mood.
Too shocked to be moved.
My emotions are alarmed.
My thoughts are racing.
Un-guarded utterances have hit me.
Too shocked to be moved.
Then I met a guardian angel.
An emissary of peace.
This is poison he said.
You are too shocked to move.
So I gathered my scattered thoughts.
I shrugged off my wounded feelings.
I lifted up my bowed head.
I am too shocked, I must move.
Move I say from poisonous thoughts.
Drink from the Word of Eternity.
Help has come for the helpless.
No more too shocked to move.
Selah.
This is a poem I wrote at a time of intense pain. Instead of feeling sorry for myself/ getting angry, I put my emotions in writing and that’s where this poem originated from. What do you do when you feel embarrassed or in a bad mood? Let me know in the comments section below. Also, subscribe to this blog if you haven’t.
Thank you for your time.

You never know until you write. Why don’t you just write first when you are free and let us look at it together. Abi.

Hmmmm for me I listen to a good music and dance myself out and other times I play scrabble like when I lost my father. But depending on the issue that led to my misery then I spend my whole day praying. It’s difficult to read my bible so this is what I do.

Music is good. Nice move. We must not allow anything to put us under pressure. Scrabble is great. It stimulates the brain and puts it into positive use.

When in a bad mood, I just withdraw from people I become quiet. I sing, play gospel music and worship God to get out of it. At times I call or go to friends that I know will cheer me up. I try not to allow myself linger in that dark place.

Dark places are horrible. God help us all.

Thank you! I find work to do and mill over the situation in my head! I do have a writing journal and later I may sit down and reflect and pray. May I be I will start writing sooner rather than later in the future.

That’s a good way of taking the tension off. It’s good to use your creativity in a positive way. Keep it up Eben.

When I’m in a bad mood or have other negative feelings I use that energy in arts, expressing myself through music. Playing something beautiful or dancing always leave me in a better mood!
Beautiful poem Ovyay!

Thank you for your comments. I play music too but can’t play any instrument. Just anything jazzy or instrumentals with strings. Horns are a bit distractive for me that’s why guitar music, violin, flutes etc works well for me too.
