Deny me not access to the woods

Do not hinder me from traversing the nations

Sun, sea, and sand fills me with joy

My name is Ovyay, the Traveling Poet.

Dust, rain, contrary winds can’t stop me

Roads, trains, planes are my comrades

More money, no money rumblings of the mind

It comes with being a wayfarer.

The dread of the known, awe of the unknown

Excitement mingled with curiosity

This is the makings of an adventurer

Heeding the call of the wild.

I have seen the mysterious beauty of the Aurora

I have gazed up at the grandeur of Mount Kilimanjaro

Kajuru Castle, Obudu mountains and Idanre hills are not strangers to the balls of the eye

The more I see, the more I want to stare at.

The good the bad and the ugly

Name them, I have met them all in my sojournings

I have made acquaintances and a few enemies

The worst is when you realize, it’s time to go homeward when you still want to venture forward.

When I am old and moldy

When my legs can no longer climb and ski

Whilst listening to the crackling fire and the crickets

From my armchair, I will climb Mount Everest.

SELAH.

“When my legs can no longer climb and ski

Whilst listening to the crackling fire and the crickets

From my armchair, I will climb Mount Everest.”

I love that part of this poem.
Making the seemingly impossible things possible in one’s mind.
Funny as it may sound, it gives one that immediate satisfaction of “I remember when I was a Soldier”.

I remain motivated by the fact that “We can do all things through Christ that strengthens us”.
Good job as always.
Thanks.

Through Christ, we truly can do all things. We will share many stories with our grand children. Amin

I love traveling,i think is one of my hubbies i neglected due to certain reasons. God’s willing I will go back to it.
When I travel, I feel relaxed, I take my mind off a lot of thinking and worrying. Totally off from my usual enviroment, make new friends, see beautiful colours and so on.

I understand Sir, especially where there are other needs that require urgent attention. What actually keeps me going is this, I say to myself, a time will come when old age may not allow you to go everywhere……so go now whilst you can👍👍👍 I appreciate your comments Sir.
