Creepy from the get go
A place suited for shady dealings
Come in, go out, no questions asked
This is my hotel, no, it ain’t a brothel.

**************’*********

I hated the place at first sight
I don’t think it loved me either
Circumstances decided my being there
Situation chose me, so I obliged.

************************

First room was occupied
By and angry sleepy eyed gecko
Big, black and ugly
I immediately asked for another room.

Finally, a room with a noisy fan
No names asked, no receipts given
Old box TV don’t work
Replaced with another dinosaur with funky colors.

12 midnightish, angry and can’t sleep
Shadowy people by my window

Passionate lips and wandering hands

Oh God help me, I am just on a journey home.

************************

When sunlight departed taking daylight
Darkness descended, so I needed a place for my head to remain defended

Now I am here praying for the departure of the moon in my room

For sunlight to bring back daylight and save me the valley of discomfort that I lodged in.
SELAH.

Slept in one in Ibadan
Terrible
A fight broke out after midnight by my window
The young lads were all stoned from drinking smoking weed and doing drugs
I didn’t sleep a wink…..I have never wanted morning to come so fast in my life

Iโ€™m angry for you. Shouldnโ€™t there be a board for hospitality management but afterall Nigeria isnโ€™t working. You definitely did pull a great feat spending a night there. Never want to go through this ever. Beautiful read!

Thanks jare for having my back . Na Naija we dey. God help us. I was in a land where I was a stranger, and it was getting dark. Most of the good hotels were already full so I took the only place that had rooms left as there was also curfew in the town. I don’t pray for an encore.

An experience I can never forget while returning home after my NYSC in the far North . I had to lodge because it was very late and I couldn’t sleep at the park because of insecurity.

That must have been very traumatic for you. Thank God
