You were the cloud that brought my rain
You made my garden blossom
Roses of joy sprouted
Violets of enchanting peace throve.
I fought wars for you
I wrestled demons for you
I ate what you ate
I wore what you wore.
The fragrance of sin transformed you
The poison of another’s lips
The defilement of her embrace
The allure of her fame.
The more I loved you
The more you hated me
The more I made you my everything
The more I became nothing to you.
You knew my love knew no bounds
So your hatred knew no limits
The closer I got
The farther you went
Till I became your
You took your love away
You can’t take being loving from me
I will give my love to another
A honourable prince shall cherish me.
My wounds will heal
With tales told by scars
Cinema of horror on my skin
Evil from one man engraved on another.
Though now my tears ebb and flows
And my heart disregards mending
I have picked up my fallen tiara
I sit as a queen again.
I am thankful for one thing
I now know the real you.
The one who drained life out of me
And left me to die.
This poem is a re-jig of memories on how it feels when a lover cheats and adds the insult of embarassing rejection to the wound. It’s a pick yourself up and move on with your life call. There better than him/her out there. Its written in a straight from the heart fashion trying to show how it feels at the moment of rejection without trying to be “decent”. It’s not written with anyones experience but if you have been there before, you know the feeling.
