169 rejected calls after

Ridicule settled as dew upon me

My field of life wet with shame

A mockingbird flew over my head

A black cat gazed ominously at me

It’s going to be a dark moody day

To be spent waiting for you to call.

I got angry, I got sad.

I told myself

I’d get another lover

Nighttime came

I found myself doing the hopeless

Waiting for you to call.

My soul cries out to the winds

Call me, say anything

Flowers, text or an emoji

Anything to make me feel loved

Alas, It’s another day

Spent painfully waiting for you to call.

You were my obsession

My out of body experience

But to you, I was a tool

Meant only to satisfy your lusts

Even at that,

I am still waiting for your call

I decided to start afresh

Not to dwell on you anymore

I went to sleep

That night

I had a dream

I saw you calling.

So I woke up

Sat by my phone

Dawn to dusk in tears

Frustrated and feeling like a fool

Miserable and disappointed

That I waited again for you to call.

Some say I am mad

Others said I am delusional

Maybe I am all they said I am

But tell me what I did wrong

Then will I stop

WAITING FOR YOU TO CALL.

SELAH.

Love hurts. It may make you act foolishly. You may do things that embarrass you in an attempt to keep “dead love” alive. This poem is written to say ” I have experienced the pain of love too” . Love is sweet. But when it hurts, it’s hurting. At the end of it all, no one is worth living miserable for. Move on, there is a better life out there waiting for you.

Nice poem my Bishop!
It’s a trip down memory lane.
Though not many had even land line in our time. Talking about the 80s.
Love is a beautiful thing but no matter what, life goes on. One has to move on and learn to love again.

True talk ma, one has to move on. Concentrating on what is lost can make one miss what is available.

Love carries misery when you are with the wrong person and you are giving and not getting it back. Set yourself free choose to be happy and move on. With the right person love is beautiful and joyfuj.

It’s a mystery to discover that what seems to be L-O-V-E at times is not really😆😆. This is so for many reasons. ….But God’s love never hurts. Hallelujah. Good post Pastor.
