And the dove died.

The dove fell with a thud
Let out an unheard scream
Yielded up its soul
And returned to the Maker

Who knows if he had just made his nest
His Mrs, warming the eggs
No more rests in a twiggy nest
He lies wasted on the unforgiving concrete

My heart is broken
Wondering and asking
Why, why this wastage
We fired it, the uncaring answered unrepentantly

It’s not just a dove
Its a creature loved by God
Remember this earth was its home too
No wonder, all animals hide when “man” is around

No more cawing crows
Or singing sparrows
Because the trees lack the melody from the chirping Robin’s
Their fruits now lack “natural sweetness”

The earth is now flavorless
Because we have made the birds homeless
Orchards are now tree-less
Even the Rooster stopped crowing because its perch-less
SELAH.
