A time in the Past

No clear footway through the rubble, everything built up has been burnt down

Hopes, plans, expectations, pride, all obliterated by the fire of unfortunate circumstances

The city of hope is now smokes and smoldering ashes

Why me, why me, I asked? If not you, then who endless silence answered.

Rats of discouragement gnawing away at my peace

Depression mocking my efforts to restore order to disorderliness

How does one get back the lost legacy when the pathways of hope have been erased

All that is left is slammed doors, rejected applications and cancelled appointments.

In comes “Jobs friends”, to whom I immediately cried for help

You are a sinning tactless and clueless man their brutal response

I lack the courage of a David I tried to explain (Stone-walled)

This is my first lion and bear and they have me on the floor mauled and brutalized. (Ignored).
